PRESENTACIÓ

Summary

The aim of this course is to develop teaching skills in English. Participants learn how to structure lectures clearly and practise a variety of expressions which the native teacher uses in class. The course builds confidence and provides the linguistic tools to effectively teach in the English Language.

Time is allocated to peer teaching a section of a lecture. This requires preparation of material at home

Guidance and correction of pronunciation and intonation is given by the trainer. Julie Foale is a native speaker with over 20 years experience of teaching at university level.



DESTINATARIS

Target

This course is addressed to all CITM lecturers. It is assumed that participants wishing to take part in this course have already achieved at least an intermediate level of proficiency before enrolling in this course. It is usually considered that the level of English needed to carry out academic tasks is above B2 (according to the Common European Framework).

CERTIFICACIÓ

La certificació a les persones participants estarà supeditada a la prèvia inscripció i acceptació pel mitjà establert (electrònicament a través del web) i a l'avaluació positiva dels treballs proposats pels formadors/res. El personal docent i investigador de la UPC que participi a l’activitat, uns dies després de la finalització, disposarà de manera automàtica de la informació a DRAC.
